Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born in South London, England into a mixed family. Her father is Nigerian-Swiss as is her mom who's English. She was a student at The Brit School when she was fourteen years old. It was the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is where she earned an acting BA. While at the school, she was a part-time actor in a number of stage productions such as the King Henry V playing Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe first began her acting career with Storm Damage. Since then, she's been making appearances as a guest in films like Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's first film role was Woody Allen's 2007 film Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. After this success, Madekwe was cast as Elisha on her role on the BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN and was featured for six seasons Trexx as well as Flipside. In 2008, she got Bambi's character on ITV2 Drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. The actress was on two series, 2 and 3. Madekwe played the lead role for How to Lose Friends And Alienate Others. The comedy released in 2008. A couple of her credits on stage are Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) and Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe first aired in the US in the US with The Beautiful Life. The drama program aired on The CW for only two episodes before being removed from the air. Ashley Davenport, a character from ABC's Revenge drama series was cast as Ashley Davenport. The show premiered in May 2013 and it was revealed that Madekwe, who had played a regular role in the two previous seasons, was to leave the series with a guest appearance on the premiere episode of the season's new episode. She starred as Tituba on the show Salem from 2014 until 2016. Her long-time friend, Iddo, married Madekwe in June 2012. Together, they worked on Secret Diary of a Call Girl. He was also a part of the cast with her on Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress that was nominated two times for a Gemini Award, is a member of an extensive Hamilton family. Her parents were Roy and Patty along with her older brothers: Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. Ashley's brothers, who are all athletes, play baseball during the summer and played hockey in the winter months. Ashley did not walk, but she danced, so at the age of 2 1/2 years old she started Baby Ballet -and she fell in love with. Ashley discovered a love for dancing shortly after she joined Baby Ballet. Ashley continued to compete until her high-school graduation at the top levels of competitions, such as tap, Jazz, Ballet and Pointe. She also competed in Acrobatics, Acrobatics Musical Theatre, Lyrical Hip Hop and many more. Ashley won the best soloist award at every major dance competition, including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and many more, just to mention a few.
